It is the highest and largest alpine lake in Xinjiang. Sayram Lake is also known as the \"last tear of the Atlantic Ocean\". The water vapor from the Atlantic Ocean reaches the Tianshan Mountains and forms abundant precipitation due to the uplift of the terrain.
